3. Products
We manufacture and sell vivariums and related products. All products are subject to availability.
We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, images, and specifications are accurate. However, slight variations may occur due to manufacturing processes.
Product Appearance
Please note that some materials, particularly darker finishes and black plastic vivariums, may naturally display minor surface marks, light scratches, or handling marks. These characteristics are inherent to the materials used and do not constitute defects.
For the avoidance of doubt, damage does not include minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the functionality, structural integrity, or intended use of the product. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Minor marks, scratches, or blemishes that are not visible once the item has been assembled, installed, or sealed.
- Minor cosmetic damage to concealed areas, such as the underside of base panels or the rear of back panels, which are not visible during normal use.
- Minor handling marks, surface scratches, or manufacturing tolerances that do not impact the performance or appearance of the product when assembled and in use.
Such minor cosmetic imperfections shall not be considered damage, defects, or grounds for replacement, refund, or compensation.
Board colours, finishes and edging materials may occasionally vary due to manufacturing tolerances or supplier changes. Suppliers may discontinue or alter products without notice. For this reason, we recommend ordering all matching items for a room, enclosure stack or project at the same time wherever possible.
4. Orders
When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation email. This does not constitute acceptance of your order.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where:
- Payment is not authorised
- Items are out of stock
- There is an error in pricing or product information
5. Pricing and Payment
All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time.
Payment must be made in full before goods are dispatched.
6. Delivery
We deliver within the United Kingdom. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Made-to-order items are typically manufactured and delivered within 2 to 6 weeks. During particularly busy periods, material shortages, supplier delays or other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally extend these timescales.
By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and accepts these estimated lead times and agrees that Repti-Life shall not be liable for any consequential losses, costs, expenses or damages arising from delays in manufacture or delivery.
Orders placed after 5:00pm Monday to Friday will be treated as having been received on the next working day. Working days are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
We are not responsible for delays caused by courier services or events outside our reasonable control.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery.
We strongly recommend that customers do not purchase or arrange collection of any reptile or animal until their enclosure has been delivered, assembled and inspected. Repti-Life cannot guarantee delivery by any specific date and accepts no liability for costs or losses incurred as a result of animals being purchased prior to receipt of the enclosure.
7. Cancellations and Returns
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.
To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be unused and in original condition.
- Items must be returned in their original packaging.
Custom-built or made-to-order vivariums may be exempt from cancellation rights where they are made to the customer’s specification or clearly personalised, in accordance with UK consumer legislation.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
8. Faulty, Damaged or Lost Goods
If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide photographic evidence.
Any replacement of items reported as damaged is subject to assessment and approval by Repti-Life and will be considered in accordance with the criteria outlined within these Terms and Conditions.
We take great care in packaging our products to minimise the risk of transit damage.
In the event that a courier reports an item as lost, the customer agrees to allow the courier’s investigation process to be completed. Such investigations can take up to seven days or longer depending on the courier involved.
If the item is confirmed as lost following the courier’s investigation, replacement parts will be manufactured and dispatched as soon as possible. Please note that replacement items may be subject to the same manufacturing lead times as the original order, depending on material availability and production schedules.
We will offer a repair, replacement or refund where required in accordance with your statutory rights.
9. Use of Products
Our vivariums are designed to withstand normal reptile enclosure conditions when correctly assembled, sealed and maintained.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all vivariums are properly sealed before use and maintained as required. Depending on the species housed and the level of activity within the enclosure, resealing may be necessary from time to time.
When correctly sealed, our vivariums are suitable for normal humidity levels; however, they are not designed to function as aquariums or for excessively high-humidity environments.
For applications requiring consistently high humidity or significant water exposure, we recommend our range of plastic vivariums.
Repti-Life cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by water ingress during use.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that vivariums, cabinets and tortoise tables are assembled and positioned on a level, stable and fully supported surface. Failure to do so may result in damage, warping or structural issues over time.
Repti-Life cannot be held liable for damage or failure resulting from products being installed on an uneven, unstable or inadequately supported surface.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure proper setup, heating, lighting and animal welfare standards are met.
We are not responsible for misuse of products or harm resulting from improper use.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses.
- Loss of business, profits or data.
Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the goods.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including images, text and branding, is the property of Repti-Life and may not be reproduced without prior written permission.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
